title: Protect yourself more... with Tor browser and SliTaz --- One of the use cases with SliTaz for me is: to run the TOR browser (TBB) (1) Why? this protects me better: 1. It directs my internet traffic through other people's PCs, so me and others can get a tad more anonymity (2). 2. Also, I can restore the image anytime, so less chances for virus, malware etc. TBB is an easy way to get started (as Tails below)! If you've never touched such topics, give it a try... You download it once (you can also run TBB in e.g. Windows) + it'll do future updates itself (it is based on FireFox ESR) If you want to be protected more AND also with more tools in this direction: I recommend you to have a look at Tails (3) and its live DVD. The Tails project exists since >10 years (and the TOR project for 17 years). Why I use TBB inside SliTaz, though? Because Tails' live DVD is too heavweight for me. I can run SliTaz with e.g. 600mb HD space + 800mb RAM (could also be less RAM depending on what sites you visit) In case you don't wanna use TBB (4), I can at least recommend the tor blog for general info: (5) see also comments at: (6) --- Erkan YILMAZ http://people.slitaz.org/~eyilmaz/blog/ https://twitter.com/SliTazLinux 2019 December 21 --- (1) https://tb-manual.torproject.org (2) As with everything, nothing is perfect, see here for weaknesses: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tor_%28anonymity_network%29#Weaknesses (3) https://tails.boum.org/ (4) see (2), as well as I've heard people say: using anonymity tools makes them visible (e.g. ISPs... might wonder why you use tor and other tools? Even with encrypted communication etc. one can see from the traffic type that you use "something"). But... I want to be protected more than less. There are always black sheep somewhere, but they are responsible for what they do themselves.
