Here (1) is a short table over the different SliTaz versions (1.0 - next) with info about:
  amount of packages, 
  linux kernel version ...


Interesting that in the "old days" (2008-2012: SliTaz 1.0 - 4.0) seemingly the 2.6 kernel was "enough"

For cooking (5.0-RC4) there seems already a newer kernel version out: 3.16.57 (4)
Also for SliTaz Next: 4.14.50 (5)
